How the 78 pairs are distributed
Band cut-offs: Excellent ≥80%, Strong ≥66%, Workable ≥52%, else Needs effort. Average across all pairs: 61%.
We ran all 78 moon-sign pairs through the four sign-level ashtakootas. Here is the honest distribution — average match, best and worst pairs, per-sign averages, and how common the bhakoot axis really is.
For each pair we compute the four rashi-based kootas — Varna, Vashya, Graha Maitri and Bhakoot (15 of 36 gun) — using the same engine that powers our 36-gun milan, then blend that with tatva (element) affinity into a 0–100 sign-level score. The nakshatra-based kootas (Tara, Yoni, Gana, Nadi) are NOT included here because they need a birth star, not just a sign. This is a sign-layer study, stated plainly.

A low pair here is never a reason to reject a match; classical cancellations and the full nakshatra layer routinely change the picture.

Run free kundli milan →We computed the four moon-sign-level ashtakootas — Varna, Vashya, Graha Maitri and Bhakoot (15 of the 36 gun) — for all 78 unique rashi pairs, blended with tatva (element) affinity, to get a sign-level match percentage for each pair.
Across all 78 pairs the average sign-level match is 61%. Because this uses only the four sign-based kootas, it is a first read — the full 36-gun milan adds the four nakshatra-based kootas.
36 of 78 pairs fall on a bhakoot (2–12, 5–9 or 6–8) axis. Classically this is cancelled when the sign lords are friends, so it is not a rejection on its own.
No single number should decide a marriage. This is educational data on the sign layer only. Real matching uses both partners' nakshatras across all 8 kootas plus Manglik and Nadi checks — run the free 36-gun milan.
